Design Story The AK Jr simplifies complex Hi-Fi audio features into a smartphone-like experience. Its raised 3.1" touchscreen provides a secure grip while slimming the profile from 8.9mm to 6.9mm. The full aluminium body and textured aluminium volume wheel enable smooth one-handed operation. Enhanced Output and Low Impedance The AK Jr delivers an output level of 1.95 VRMS, a 14% increase over the AK100's 1.5 VRMS. Its output impedance is reduced to 2 Ohms from the AK100’s 22 Ohms, resulting in significantly improved sound fidelity. Compatible with a wide range of earphones and headphones, the AK Jr eliminates the need for a separate amplifier. DSD to PCM Support The AK Jr supports DSD, the next-generation digital audio format for high-resolution sound. It converts 2.8 MHz DSD files to PCM, allowing you to enjoy a broader range of audio formats. USB DAC Functionality When connected to a PC or Mac via USB, the AK Jr functions as an external DAC (sound card), delivering high-quality audio without the need for a built-in sound card. Note that EQ settings are disabled in USB DAC mode. The USB DAC supports UAC 1.0 (USB Audio Class 1.0 / 24-bit, 96 kHz) audio output. Full Touchscreen Display The AK Jr features a 3.1" LCD touchscreen, approximately 1.4 times larger than the AK100’s display. The responsive, smartphone-like interface shows more information and enhances usability. Storage Capacity With 64GB of internal memory and support for microSD cards up to 256GB, the AK Jr offers a total storage capacity of up to 320GB. This allows you to store over 3,125 high-resolution audio tracks (based on 4-minute songs at 24 bit/96 kHz, approx. 90MB each).
