The Aten VC882 serves two roles in one compact metal unit: it repeats an HDMI signal over distances up to 5 metres while simultaneously providing audio embedding and de-embedding. In de-embed mode, digital audio is extracted from the incoming HDMI signal and routed to a separate audio output — useful for feeding a dedicated audio system from an HDMI source without a separate audio matrix. In embed mode, an external audio signal is injected into the outgoing HDMI stream — allowing audio from a separate source to replace or augment the HDMI audio. Mode selection is via 2-pin or 4-pin DIP switches on the unit. True 4K resolution (4096x2160 @ 60Hz, 4:4:4) is maintained with full HDR support including HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG). HDCP 2.2 compliance covers the latest 4K content protection requirements. ARC (Audio Return Channel) eliminates additional cabling when connecting AV receivers or home theatre systems to a TV. Supports LPCM 2.0, Dolby Digital 2.0, Dolby Digital 5.1, and DTS Digital 5.1 audio formats. Firmware upgradeable. Suitable for training rooms, conference rooms, video production, and home theatre installations.
