Product Description

The Red3 uses a four-piece OTL cantilever with a Grado-specific diamond stylus mounted on a brass bushing. Each cartridge is hand selected from production runs that meet higher test specifications to ensure quality and performance.

Grado’s Optimized Transmission Line (OTL) technology provides an ideal transfer of signal from the LP surface to the cartridge's generator. This technology effectively rejects unwanted resonances and lowers distortion, preserving both fundamental and harmonic frequencies of the music. It also minimises noise generated by the cartridge’s motor system.

The OTL stylus and cantilever design results in quieter records, enhanced soundstage height, width, and depth, and greater detail than previously achievable.

Hand assembled by a skilled team in Brooklyn, some with over 25 years of experience, the Red3 benefits from technology trickled down from Grado’s acclaimed Lineage Series. This includes advanced coil winding techniques using ultra high purity copper wire, achieving unison between the four coils for precise channel balance and accurate stereo imaging.

The twin magnet system optimises stereo channel balance, with all internal magnetic circuit parts held to extremely high tolerances. Grado’s patented Flux-Bridge™ design ensures one of the lowest effective moving mass generating systems, delivering excellent balance across the full frequency range.

Inspired by the Lineage Series Epoch model, the Red3 features a de-stressed chassis that dissipates unwanted energy and resonant frequencies, allowing the desired signal to travel freely for a cleaner sound.
