The Imix SM-12 is a 12-inch passive stage monitor enclosure designed for use on stage at live performances. Stage monitors are positioned facing the performer (typically angled upward from the stage floor in a wedge configuration) and driven from the monitor mix channel of the mixing console via a separate power amplifier, allowing each performer to hear a customised mix of their instrument, vocals, and other stage elements. The SM-12 houses a 12-inch woofer and a piezo horn tweeter for extended high-frequency coverage. Being passive (unpowered), the SM-12 requires a separate power amplifier - allowing the system engineer to match amplifier power to the venue and performance requirements.
