Driver Technology
The QX-5 MKII drivers feature an improved acrylic fibre cone material that is durable and visually refined, delivering natural midrange tones and exceptional clarity. Integrated into the Mission DiaDrive System, the seamless curvilinear cones increase contact area with the voice coil, resulting in outstanding transient response and timing accuracy.
Ring Dome Tweeter
The textile ring dome tweeter includes a visible phase plug that prevents cancellation of high-frequency waves near the diaphragm centre. This design reduces distortion and extends high-frequency reproduction from 10kHz well beyond 20kHz, enhancing transient performance and musical detail.
Design and Finish
The QX-5 MKII series offers new Lux Black and Lux White matte finishes alongside the classic walnut pearl option. The colour-coordinated aluminium top plate adds rigidity and aesthetic appeal, enhancing the cabinet’s acoustic performance.
Inverted Driver Geometry (IDG)
The classic Mission IDG layout positions the treble unit below the bass and midrange drivers, equalising sound path lengths for improved time alignment and a coherent soundstage.
