The Pure Link PLK-DMX5 is a 5-metre DMX512 cable with male and female XLR connectors for linking lighting controllers, distribution nodes, dimmers, LED drivers, moving heads, and DMX-controlled fixtures. The cable uses 110-ohm impedance wire as required by the DMX512 standard - DMX cable is NOT interchangeable with standard XLR microphone cable (which uses 75-ohm impedance), and using mic cable for DMX can cause signal degradation and unreliable fixture control, particularly on longer daisy-chain runs. The 5-metre length is one of the most versatile patch lengths in a lighting rig - long enough to reach fixtures at adjacent positions or to connect the controller to the first fixture without excess slack. Suited to lighting technicians, theatre technicians, entertainment production companies, and event hire operators.
