The Sony BDP-S490 is the first in Sony's Blu-ray range to feature full 3D playback, perfect for enjoying the growing selection of 3D films on compatible 3D TVs. It also includes a 2D to 3D convertor, allowing you to watch any disc in simulated 3D.

As expected from the inventors of Blu-ray, the BDP-S490 delivers class-leading picture quality. Deep Colour and x.v.Colour technologies provide subtle detail beyond DVD capabilities. The 24p True Cinema feature ensures fluid, cinema-like motion, while the Super Scaler (Precision CinemaHD upscale) and DVD 24p output enhance your existing DVD collection.

Sound quality is equally impressive, with full compatibility for Dolby and DTS HD processors. This results in detailed, dynamic, and precise audio, especially in surround sound formats. A digital output allows connection to a higher quality DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter) for further sound enhancement of DVDs and CDs.
