First introduced in 1957, the Heresy was originally a compact centre channel speaker designed to complement the Klipschorn® in three-speaker stereo arrays. The Heresy IV continues this legacy, offering powerful, dynamic sound from a relatively small speaker enclosure. For the first time in its history, the Heresy IV features a rear port that improves low-frequency response and reduces port noise. The Tractrix geometry of the port allows for efficient, fast air transfer, resulting in punchier bass and less distortion.
The speakers include a removable slant riser base for optimal floor placement or cabinet installation.

When Paul W. Klipsch developed a smaller speaker to complement the Klipschorn, some believed it violated his corner horn principles and called it acoustic heresy. Mr. Klipsch embraced the challenge, naming the speaker "Heresy." Since its introduction, the Heresy has become a bestseller, especially in church sound reinforcement markets.
