Overview

The Rega Planar 3 replaces the multi-award-winning RP3 after two years of development led by Roy Gandy. Only two components carry over from its predecessor, marking the biggest redesign of the iconic 'Three' model to date.

The new RB330 tonearm features a redesigned bias assembly, stiffer vertical bearing housing, integrated arm clip, and improved spring housing with easier-to-read numbers. The high gloss acrylic laminated plinth includes an ergonomically positioned power switch and a double brace system to reduce resonance and vibration.

Upgrades include a redesigned brass main hub bearing housing for improved fit and reduced stress, enhanced sub platter and platter for accuracy and stiffness, and a new foot design that increases stability and reduces vibration transfer.

The 24V motor boasts an improved control PCB with integration for the Neo PSU (sold separately), enabling electronic speed change and advanced anti-vibration performance. A motor cover tray with integrated cooling completes the design.
