Overview

The Planar 6 builds on the success of the RP8 and RP10 models, incorporating an ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core plinth—a material originally developed for the aerospace industry. This core is sandwiched between a new high-pressure laminate (HPL) with a stunning Polaris matt grey finish and high gloss black polymer edge trim, combining rigidity with elegant aesthetics.

It features a single-piece machined aluminium sub-platter, a new 24V low noise synchronous motor hand-tuned and matched to its dedicated NEO power supply, and a custom drive pulley fitted with an upgraded white drive belt as standard. The NEO PSU offers electronic speed change, advanced anti-vibration control, and user-adjustable fine speed adjustment previously exclusive to the RP10.

The NEO power supply uses a digital signal processing (DSP) generator built on a high stability crystal, producing a near-perfect sinusoidal waveform with less than 0.15% distortion. This ensures consistent platter speed unaffected by mains voltage fluctuations and powers the turntable’s anti-vibration circuit located beneath the unit.

The Planar 6 is available with the recommended Ania MC cartridge factory fitted, offering an attractive package with a discount when purchased together.
