Intellinet Fast Ethernet WDM Media Converter — single-mode bi-directional media converter using WDM (1310/1550nm) on a single fibre strand to bridge 10/100Base-TX copper Ethernet over 100Base-FX fibre up to 20km. This WDM media converter uses wavelength division multiplexing to carry transmit and receive signals on a single fibre strand — effectively doubling the usable capacity of a single-strand fibre run, or freeing a strand for a second independent connection. The converter bridges standard Cat5/5e copper Ethernet (10/100Base-TX via RJ45) to 100Base-FX fast Ethernet over an SC-connector single-mode fibre, extending reach up to 20km without repeaters. Completely transparent to the network protocol, it requires no configuration and fits a standard 19" rack-mountable chassis for multi-unit deployments.
